Merit Kask

Merit Kask (b 1982) is an editor and a journalist.

She studied semiotics and culture theory in Tartu University and wrote her thesis on the semiotics of literature. Parallel with her studies she began her career as a journalist writing reviews and feature stories.

In 2014 she moved to book publishing and started working as a project manager in Estonian biggest publishing house Varrak where she worked mostly with fiction, both with Estonian and foreign authors.

In 2017 together she started her own small publishing company Hunt Publisher with a writer Kätlin Kaldmaa. Their selection represents cultural diversity and their aim is to give voice to groups that tend to be marginalised.
