Eleni Kekropoulou

Eleni Kekropoulou was born in Kavala, Macedonia, but grew up in Trikala, Thessaly. She studied Political Science and Law, at the National Kapodistriakon University of Athens, as well as foreign languages. She has been working for 39 years, as translator (english, french, spanish, italian, portugish, latin), editor, publisher and writer. She is member of the board of the Greek Society of Literary Translators, member of the Greek PEN, and member of the board of National Society of Greek Authors. She was been awarded for her translation for the poetical work HOMER, by the nobelist Derek Walcott, and she is considered as one of the best contemporary Greek writers of literary historical novels. She is co-founder of two publishing houses ENALIOS (mainly non-fiction) and OCEANOS (mainly literature)
