Carl-Johan Vallgren (Linköping, Sweden 1964)is a writer and musician.Lived in Madrid and Copenhagen 1991–1993, and in Berlin, Germany 1993-2005. Moved back to Sweden, Stockholm, in 2005.As a writer he has won worldwide acclaim with the bestselling novel The horrific sufferings of the mindreading monster Hercules Barefoot, his wonderful love and his terrible hatred – published in 26 languages. His latest novel Havsmannen (The Merman), immediately became a bestseller when it was published in Sweden 2012.Vallgren has published 8 novels an 2 collections of shortstories since his debut in 1987. In Scandinavia he is also a wellknown singer/songwriter. His discography includes 7 CD’s, the most recent Nattbok (Warner/Metronome 2010).
